Definition of the word “Love”

The definition which is written in the Oxford Dictionary is,

Affection : a strong feeling of deep affection for somebody or something, especially a member of your family or a friend.

We learned from this definition, the word “Love” is not a word whice can be used as feeling for opposite gender, or for sexual partner! Even, It is not a sexual word. Rather, It can be used for anything or any person what or whice we like strongly!

Muslim Philosophies Mawlana Jalal Uddin Rumi (Rh.) said,

پرسد أز طبيب أحول دست گفت

فى بعده عذب و فى قربه ندمة

I asked Doctor, “what is the condition of a friend?”

He said, “The pain of being away from him and the shame of being near to him”

This Poem is also verify the definition whice is written in Oxford Dictionary.

Allama Ashrad Ali Thanawi (Rh.) said,

“The greatest love, is love for Allah”

Every Muslim believes it. So, If we think Love is a sexual word, how can we love Allah Subhanahu Taala? Sexually? (Nauzubillahi Taala Min Jalik)

So we can say with confidence, “Love” is not a sexual word... We love our family members, our friends, our country, and we strongly love Allah Subhanahu Taala.
